Here’s Why The Kiev Sniper Massacre Was a False Flag

Here’s Why The Kiev Sniper Massacre Was a False Flag

Russia-Insider.com Joshua Tartakovsky, December 7, 2014   In 1 October 2014, Ivan Katchanovski, a Professor of Political Science at the University of Ottawa  and formerly a visiting scholar at the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University, presented the first academic paper to deal comprehensively with bloody day of February 20, 2014. The paper, titled “The “Snipers’ Massacre” on the Maidan in Ukraine”, was presented at the Chair of Ukrainian Studies Seminar at the University of Ottawa. In his paper Professor Katchanovski produces solid evidence for the argument that hired snipers were involved in shootings of protesters on Maidan, even if police forces are not to be absolved from blame for firing on protesters. Indeed, a EU High Representative Catherine Ashton was caught on tape discussing with the Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet serious allegations that those who fired on the protesters in fact came from the opposition. However,  a full investigation has not been followed, nor has any Western government publicly called for such an investigation. The new Kiev government’s investigation resulted in the arrest of three members of the Ukrainian riot police “Berkut”  who were held accountable for the killings. One of the three disappeared, with the possibility that he was either killed or fled equally probable at this point.   Professor Katchanovski’s full paper can be found here and deserves to be studied and analyzed in great detail. Only several key arguments will be provided in this article while those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of what took place are highly encouraged to read the report in full and view its...
Western Reporters Fail to Convey the Russian Viewpoint

Western Reporters Fail to Convey the Russian Viewpoint

Russia Insider Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 When it comes to covering Russia, the more Russia appears as irrational, the better The frenzy with which Western reporters depict Russia as a barbaric force while ignoring the Ukrainian army’s attack on civilians Joshua Tartakovsky Israeli-American independent journalist and a graduate of Brown University and LSE The Western media depicts Russia on nearly every occasion as an aggressive and irrational bully while wholly ignoring real war crimes committed by the Ukrainian government against its own citizens in the Donbass. Provocative actions taken by the US to expand NATO at the price of backing outright fascists in the Ukrainian government and armed militias are not mentioned and escape the notice of most people. When speaking of Russia, Western reporters do not attempt to report from the sidelines as bystanders, nor present a more nuanced view that suggests that Russia may have a point on some issues. Instead, Western reporters frequently portray Russia as an aggressive force that must be both belittled and feared while unfounded stories regarding Russia’s invasion of East Ukraine are being presented as facts. The heightened sense of superiority in their black-and-white portrayal makes it clear that many Western journalists have in fact chosen a side and that they see themselves as warriors fighting on behalf of the Western civilization against the foreign and menacing Russian Other, while seeking to illicit a similar sense in the public. When it comes to covering Russia, the more Russia appears as irrational, the better. Although occasionally some facts make it into the mainstream media, they are quickly forgotten and the demonization of Russia continues....

Photo Credit: Wikimedia Commons May 9 is the day in which Russia celebrates its victory over Nazism for which 27 million Russians paid the price. So this is an opportune time to ask some serious questions about US funding and support for the unelected ‘government’ in Kiev that contains members of the neo-Nazi parties Svoboda and Right Sector in key positions. Andriy Parubiy, who founded, along with Oleh Tyahnybok, the Social-National Party of Ukraine–subsequently renamed Svoboda (Freedom)–is now Kiev’s National Security Chief and in charge of military operations against Ukrainian civilians who oppose the unelected junta in Kiev. These actions are being termed an “anti-terrorism operation” while the terrorism that accompanied the Maidan coup in Kiev, which included throwing Molotov cocktails on police, neo-Nazis patrolling Kiev in armed groups, and serious allegations regarding Maidan activists hiring snipers who fired on crowds, is accepted as legitimate by the West and not questioned. John McCain and Victoria Nuland had no qualms meeting with Tyahnybok, although his party, Svoboda, glorifies fascist leaders such as Stepan Bandera, the infamous Ukrainian Nazi, whose Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists was responsible for massacres of tens of thousands of Poles and Jews. ‘Right Sector’ leader Dmytro Yarosh is the security deputy of the interim government. He claims that it is Ukraine’s destiny to be in eternal warwith Russiaand espouses Nazi ideals. Members of his group are now an official part of theNational Guard and are sent...
